A record number of sites have registered to participate in 26th International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Day. National coordinator of the event, the Jamaica Environment Trust (JET) has confirmed 56 sites across the island where beach cleanups will be taking place to mark the event this year. Among the 56 sites is JET’s 18th annual cleanup which will for the second time be held at the Fort Rocky Beach on the Palisadoes strip.
The Jamaica Environment Trust is a non-profit, non-governmental membership organization operating in the island of Jamaica. Formed in 1991 with preserving Jamaica's environment through education and advocacy as its main focus.
The Environmental Foundation of Jamaica (EFJ) was established to facilitate the promotion and implementation of activities which will conserve and manage the natural resources and environment of Jamaica and improve and positively impact child development.
The National Environmental and Planning Agency an Executive Agency of the Government of Jamaica aims to integrate environmental, planning and sustainable development policies and programmes and to improve customer service.
